An invitation to collaborate

Let’s find out
if this helps.

A focused experiment in making permit applications more complete. I’m looking for two kinds of collaborator to help shape the question and test an answer.

Build the check.

Help turn one set of permit requirements into a small, testable tool.

  • Extract requirements from authoritative guidance.
  • Help prototype the submission check.
  • Make outputs traceable to their sources.
  • Measure errors alongside useful findings.

Keep it grounded.

Bring firsthand experience as an architect, permit expediter, or another professional who works with applications.

  • Help choose a useful permit category.
  • Provide or help source redacted past cases.
  • Explain correction notices and common omissions.
  • Judge where the checker helps or gets it wrong.

I’ll lead the investigation.

I’ll own research, product design, prototyping, test coordination, and the written findings. We’ll divide technical and domain work around the experience each person brings.

A short test. A clear finish.

We’ll agree on scope, timing, roles, and terms before work begins. The proposed deliverable is a small prototype and an honest assessment of whether it deserves another test.

There’s no working product or validated result yet. City participation isn’t required for the proposed first test.

What would
you bring?

A little about your experience and the part you’d like to take on is enough to begin.
